Clicker Training
Clicker Training is a training method that uses a clicker to make a sudden sharp “click” sound that indicates to a dog that he has done something to earn a food reward. This “click” has been shown to produce very rapid learning, long retention, and emotional surges/positive emotions in dogs. This is a basic class for dogs over 6 months of age that either missed out on training as a puppy or are ready for their next level of obedience. Sit, down, default stay, place, loose leash walking, behavior management, and recall. Term: 6 weeks, 1 hour-long class per week Prerequisite:See Socialization Checklist Required equipment: Flat buckle collar with a 6 ft leash, treat pouch, and lots of high value treats like hotdogs, chicken breast, cheese. No e-collars, prong collars, no retractable or slip leads will be permitted in class.Wednesdays 6:15-7:15PM. 6 Weeks 1/6-2/12 ATTENTION: All students must fill out a training survey. Please provide proof of vaccinations on or before the first night of class. Can now be uploaded at sign up, but not required.
